Project summaries

The ARCC Coordination Network (ACN) exists to facilitate networking between the 14 EPSRC-funded projects. One page summaries of the research projects that are part of ARCC can be found in the left menu.

The 14 research projects being brought together within the ARCC Coordination Network resulted from four separate calls for research proposals. The first of these – Impact of a changing climate on the Urban Environment – resulted in the funding of LUCID and SCORCHIO. The second – Ideas Factory on coping with Extreme Weather held in April/May 2007 – lead to the development and funding of the consortium proposal CREW.

A subsequent call – The User of Probabilistic Climate Scenarios in Adaptation Decision within the Building Sector (May 2007) lead to the funding of: COPSE, DOWNPIPE, PROMETHEUS, PROCLIMATION and Low Carbon Future (HVAC).

The Adaptation and Resilience to a Changing Climate call under Living with Environmental Change (LWEC), lead by EPSRC with ESRC, resulted in the funding of: ARCADIA, ARCC-Water, BIOPICCC, De2RHECC, FUTURENET and SNACC. The six newly-funded ARCC research projects mentioned above have now begun their programmes of research. With the inclusion of these new projects, the scope of research within the ACN has been widened to include more specific research in climate change adaptation in the fields of existing buildings, and transport, water and health infrastructure.
